Our Federal Civil Panel was established on May 25, 1999 by Standing Order "In Re The Establishment of a Federal Civil Panel To Provide Legal Assistance to Indigent Parties in Certain Civil Litigation", and is divided into three categories or panels; Prisoner Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination, and Other Civil Matters.

An attorney who is a member of the bar of this Court may volunteer to serve on the Federal Civil Panel by submitting a sign up form to the Clerk's office.

The Standing Order for "District Court Fund", effective January 1, 2005, provides a means for a participating panel attorney to seek reimbursement, generally up to $1,000.00 per case, for certain costs and expenses related to their representation in a panel case.

When applicable, a panel attorney may submit an "Application for Expense Reimbursement by Federal Civil Panel Attorney" (click for form).

Questions regarding the Federal Civil Panel should be directed to the Clerk of Court, ATTN: Ron Eberhard, at 573-6170.
