The
appointment of Samuel Barr, to be Marshal of the District of Delaware, has given
satisfaction to all except one or two disappointed applicants, and is
highly creditable to the Administration. Mr. B. is a gentleman of modest and
unassuming
manners, and "one who knows no guile." He will honestly and
faithfully
discharge the duties of his office, and will give it character. Had such worthy men as Mr.
Barr been sent to the Legislature, in the place of a few aristocrats and miserable tools
of the New Castle clique, the interests of the people would have been better regarded. U.S.
