ORDER APPOINTING MERIT SELECTION PANEL

  

       WHEREAS, the current tem of office of United States Magistrate Judge Mary Pat Thynge at Wilmington, Delaware is due to expire on June 16, 2008, and the United States District Court is required by law to establish a panel of citizens to consider the reappointment of the magistrate Judge to a new eight-year term;  

       NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of 28 U.S.C. § 631 and § 6.03 of the Regulations of the Judicial Conference of the United States,

       IT IS ORDERED that:
       1.      The following persons are hereby appointed members of the Merit Selection Panel of this Court:

Edson Bostic, Esq.                     
Kathleen Fahey-Hosey                   
Anne Shea Gaza, Esq.                   
Norman Oliver                          
Noel Primos, Esq.                      
Keith Rosen, Esq.                      
Philip Rovner, Esq.                    
       2.      The Merit Selection Panel shall proceed forthwith to undertake the duties and responsibilities as provided by statute and regulations as hereinbefore provided, and review the incumbent's current service as Magistrate Judge and other experience, the comments from members of the bar and public, and other evidence of the incumbent's good character, ability, and commitment to equal justice under the law.
       4.      The Panel shall report to the Court within ninety days after creation on November 1, 2007, unless otherwise directed by the Court, whether the incumbent is recommended for reappointment.
       5.      Public notice shall be posted in appropriate facilities describing the duties of the position, the date of expiration of the incumbent's current term of office, and invite comments from members of the public.  The notice shall include the name and address of the person to whom comments shall be submitted.
