2015 U.S. District Court Bench and Bar Conference - Registration Now Available

The Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association (“FBA”), in collaboration with the United States District Court for the District of Delaware (“District Court”) and the Federal Circuit Bar Association (“FCBA”), is pleased to announce that registration for the District Court’s Inaugural Bench and Bar Conference (the “Conference”) is now available.

I. Conference Information

As set forth in the attached agenda, the two-day Conference will be held at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, on May 7-8, 2015.  The Conference, which offers 9 hours of CLE credits (8 substantive credits and 1 ethics credit) to attendees, will feature district and appellate judges from across the country, as well as nationally-recognized speakers from both the private and public sectors.

The Thursday program, which will be held in the Gold Ballroom, is a plenary session featuring CLE courses of general interest across legal disciplines.  The Friday session offers two tracks:  an intellectual property law track (in the Gold Ballroom), and a criminal law track (in the DuBarry Room), and will conclude with a joint luncheon and ethics program in the Gold Ballroom.

II. Registration Information for Conference Attendees

The registration page sets forth several options for Conference attendance, depending upon whether attendees are in the private or public sector.  For private-sector attorneys, the following registration options are available:

Full Attendance* FBA Member (Private Sector) -- $350
Full Attendance* FCBA Member (Private Sector) -- $450
Full Attendance* non-FBA or FCBA Member (Private Sector) -- $600

For public-sector attorneys, the following registration options are available:

Full Attendance* FBA Member (Public Sector) -- $200
Full Attendance* non-FBA Member (Public Sector) -- $300
Thursday CLE-Only^ FBA Member (Public Sector) -- $25
Thursday CLE-Only^ non-FBA Member (Public Sector) -- $60

*The Full Attendance package consists of two days of CLE courses (9 credit hours), two conference lunches and intermittent refreshments at the Hotel DuPont, entry to the Thursday night event at Winterthur Museum and Gardens (featuring garden tours, a cocktail reception, dinner, and live entertainment), and transportation between the Hotel DuPont and Winterthur.  

^The Thursday CLE-Only package for public attorneys consists of 5 substantive CLE credits, but does not include lunch at the Hotel DuPont or entry to the Thursday night event at Winterthur.

Finally, private or public sector attorneys may register for the Friday Criminal Law Track for a fee of $50, which includes 4 CLE credits (3 substantive credits and 1 ethics credit) and a lunch at the Hotel DuPont.  The Friday Criminal track will include training for attorneys on the Court’s Criminal Justice Act Panel.  Attendees who register for the “Friday Program Only” track may attend only the Criminal Law sessions.

III. Program Confirmation

Upon registration, Conference attendees will receive an email confirmation directly from PayPal.  Attendees will also receive a second email from service@paypal.com regarding shipping information.  Attendees may disregard the shipping confirmation email, as any separate registration materials will be provided to attendees at the Conference.

VI. Limited Space

Conference and Hotel space is limited.   We encourage all individuals interested in attending the Conference to register without delay.  If the Conference becomes oversubscribed, potential attendees will be placed on a wait list.  

VII. Guests

Attendees who register for the Full Attendance package may bring a guest to the Thursday night event for an additional fee of $100.  Please note that attendees must register separately for any guests on the registration page.
