Applications Sought for Court's High School Summer Internship Program

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The United States District Court for the District of Delaware is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its High School Summer Internship Program for Summer 2016.

Students accepted into this program will work for six weeks, beginning on June 27, 2016 and ending on August 5, 2016. They will work in chambers with Judges of the District Court and with other federal employees who work with the Court. The interns will also have the opportunity to observe District Court proceedings, meet leaders in the Delaware legal system and interact with assigned mentors who are attorneys in the District. The interns will be paid $350 per week, or $2,100 for the six-week program (pre-tax).

Students who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors in a New Castle County Delaware high school in the 2016-2017 school year are eligible to apply to the program. Those interested in applying to the program should submit the completed application (by mail or e-mail), along with their school transcript, a letter of recommendation from either a teacher or other counselor at their school and proof of their citizenship status (a copy of their U.S. Passport, Social Security card, birth certificate or green card), to:

Applications are due no later than April 22, 2016. Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview process before final selection decisions are made.
