Please review the below Human Resources policies and email Beth Mason (Beth_Mason@ded.uscourts.gov) within one week of your start date to confirm once all the policies have been reviewed.

2. All judicial employees are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees adopted by the Judicial Conference.

OCCUPANT EMERGENCY PLAN

Please familiarize yourself with the Occupant Emergency Plan for the J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building.

PACER EXEMPTION REQUEST

In order to have access to CM/ECF, interns must register for a PACER exemption. Please complete follow the “PACER INTERN DIRECTIONS” to register for a PACER exemption. Once you have registered for a PACER account, please email Beth Mason (Beth_Mason@ded.uscourts.gov) the following information: email address used for PACER request, account number, Judge, and end date of internship. HR will then reach out to PACER to submit the exemption request. This process typically takes 2-3 days to process once the PACER Help Desk receives the PACER exemption request.

TOTAL WELLNESS

New staff are encouraged to review the total wellness services available to Judiciary employees. This includes EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and WorkLife4You. If you have any questions about these programs, please contact me for assistance. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers assessment, referral, short-term telephonic or face-to-face counseling, and follow-up for employees confronted with family and marital problems, financial challenges, legal obstacles, or symptoms of stress and other emotional conditions. The Work/Life Services Program (WorkLife4You) specialists provide employees and their family members with the resources they need to effectively manage their responsibilities at work and at home.

FEDERAL BUILDING- ENTRY PROCEDURES

Interns are not issued Facility Access Cards since they are not federal employees. You must show proper identification to be fully screened and enter the building.
