Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on March 21, 1974, to a seat vacated by Caleb M Wright; Confirmed by the Senate on April 5, 1974, and received commission on April 17, 1974. Served as Chief Judge, 1985-1989. Assumed senior status on July 24, 1989.  Service terminated on January 11, 2013, due to death.
