FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AUGUST 24, 2020
Delaware District and Bankruptcy Courts Plan to Extend the Order of the Delaware Supreme Court Adopting Limited Practice Privilege for 2020 Bar Applicants
The United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Delaware recognize the exceptional circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the hardship that applicants for admission to the Delaware Bar face after the cancellation of the 2020 Bar Exam. As a result, the August 12, 2020 Order adopted by the Delaware Supreme Court, which allows applicants registered for the 2020 Delaware Bar Exam the privilege of temporarily engaging in the limited practice of law, will be extended to the District and Bankruptcy Courts.
Details of the Delaware limited practice privilege have been provided directly to 2020 Delaware Bar Applicants and are also available here:

Under a forthcoming order from the District and Bankruptcy Courts, those applicants that qualify for and are admitted to the limited practice privilege in the State of Delaware will have the opportunity to apply for a corollary admission that will allow them to engage in certain limited legal activities in the Delaware District and Bankruptcy Courts under the supervision of an experienced Delaware lawyer admitted in those courts. Additional details on eligibility and the terms of this limited practice will be included in the forthcoming order.
Please take note that the Delaware District and Bankruptcy Court limited practice privilege will require admission under the Delaware Supreme Court limited practice privilege order. The deadline for 2020 Bar Applicants to apply for the Delaware Supreme Court limited practice privilege is Wednesday, August 26, 2020. The deadline to apply for the District and Bankruptcy Court limited practice privilege will be announced soon.
