U.S. BANKRUPTCY JUDGESHIPS
FOR THE DISTRICT OF DELAWARE

Tentative Selection of John T. Dorsey and Karen B. Owens

In October, 2018, a merit selection committee was appointed by the Judicial Council of the Third Circuit to recommend candidates for two newly authorized judgeships on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. A public notice was widely circulated to publicize the openings, applications were received, and interviews of applicants were conducted. Following its deliberations, the committee submitted a report and recommendations to the Judicial Council for the Third Circuit.

After considering the recommendations of the selection committee, the Judicial Council conducted interviews with the leading candidates and then made its recommendations for the two bankruptcy judgeships to the appointing authority, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Having considered the Judicial Council’s recommendations, the United States Court of Appeals has found John T. Dorsey, Esq., of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP, and Karen B. Owens, Esq., of Ashby & Geddes, P.A., to be most qualified and is, at present, considering their appointment to the two bankruptcy judgeships. This notice is intended to solicit written comments concerning the qualifications of John T. Dorsey and Karen B. Owens for these positions. Such comments will be accepted until Friday, March 22, 2019, and should be addressed to:
