NextGen

NextGen requires each attorney to have their own individual PACER account.  Shared PACER accounts cannot be used by filing attorneys.  Firms may set up a PACER Administrative Account (PAA) to help manage attorney accounts and have those individual accounts centrally billed for PACER access fees.  For more information on PAA Accounts review Information regarding PACER Administrative Accounts.  To register for a PACER Administrative Account, visit https://www.pacer.gov/reg_firm.html.

E-Filers must do the following in order to file in NextGen CM/ECF:

1.  Obtain your own individual PACER account or upgrade your existing individual PACER account.

Existing "Legacy" PACER accounts (accounts issued prior to August 11, 2014) must be upgraded.

2.  CJA Attorneys will only need one PACER account for filing and viewing in CM/ECF NextGen.

If you have a separate exempt CJA account now, those exempt privileges will be added to your individual upgraded PACER account and your current exempt account will be cancelled. Click here for instructions on requesting the CJA fee exemption.

3.  Know your current CM/ECF Login and Password.

You must know your current CM/ECF login and password before the Court upgrades to NextGen. If the login information is stored in the browser, it will be lost and not recoverable. If you do not know your login or password, contact the Clerk’s Office at NextGen_Helpdesk@ded.uscourts.govPlease note this mailbox is for NextGen related questions only.  Any case related questions will not be acknowledged and should instead be directed to the Clerk's Office at 302-573-6170.
